No special effects for 2009.
Halfway through December, a rare storm spilled out of the Alaska
gulf. Overnight temps plunged below freezing, and the snow level
dropped to 3,000 feet. That only happens in Ojai once or
twice per year. Some friends, the associate editor of the local
paper, and the ultimate authority, my wife, all liked this shot of
mile-high Chief Peak and the contrast provided by the palm tree in the
foreground. I used a polarizing filter to darken the sky.
